Name: Masaru Kyoto
Age: 21
Rank: Missing-Nin (A-Rank)
Gender: Male
Village: Originally Kiri, he now wanders.
Special: Received a small amount of ANBU training.
Height: 6’2’’
Weight: 150 lbs
Statistics:
Ninjutsu: 25
Genjutsu: 4
Taijutsu: 1
Chakra: 171
Slots: 10
Physical Description: With a rather thin build, Masaru hardly looks like a ninja at all, really, which fools many he comes in contact with. The shinobi possesses jet-black hair, kept relatively short and cared for rather well, considering his situation. Beneath that can be found the man’s cerulean eyes, the right one boasting a thin, clean scar that nearly moves right through; besides that one scar, however, his face is rather picturesque. From being outside constantly, the man has developed a rather nice tan; a vanity point, even though few people see him.
Clothing: Not wanting to be noticed, Masaru can be found wearing an outfit mostly found on civilian travelers, his Kiri forehead protector nowhere to be found on his person. The first thing that can be noticed is his wide bamboo hat, a nice, fashionable thing. Below that, the man wears a black cloak, a rather tattered thing, but perfectly good for his traveling. Underneath the cloak, Masaru usually dons a plain, blue, short-sleeve shirt, as well as the standard-issue pants given to all Hidden Mist shinobi, though he claims that the latter are simply normal pants, nothing more. As for his feet, the man usually wears simple, wooden platform sandals.
Personality: Masaru is a rather odd individual, which is exactly how he likes it. While intelligent, the man rarely demonstrates his mind unless he has to, which is, well, rare. Instead, he will respond with biting sarcasm when asked a question, smiling as he jokes around with what could potentially be a lethal threat. Along with that is the man’s slightly arrogant (Man, co'cky fits so much better, bloody cesnorship...) attitude, though he claims to do it with humor, which makes it okay. When it comes to people in need, Masaru is very caring, even going out of his way to help those who need it, the side of his personality he likes to let show. Almost in complete contrast to this, however, is how Masaru acts when in battle. While he doesn’t seek out combat, the battles that he must go through are ones that he fights with great enthusiasm and skill, never wasting a single motion and quickly dispatching his opponents, all while remaining his usual air of causality. Masaru's ultiamte goal in life is to make up for the act that forced him to leave his village, and to acheive that goal, the man refuses to kill unless there is no other way, usually incapacitating those that hunt him rather than killing them.
Clan/Bloodline: None
Background: Born in Kiri village to skilled, ninja parents, Masaru was hailed as a genius from the moment he could walk. He was widely expected to attain the rank of Mizukage someday, and that was when the boy was only three years old. The beliefs of the villagers were further reinforced when the boy entered the Ninja Academy, reaching the rank of Genin at the age of five, making him one of the village’s youngest graduates ever. Even more impressive, Masaru passed—a weak word, perhaps; he dominated—the Chuunin exams only a year later, easily becoming the village’s youngest Chuunin in recent history. Doors were opened left and right for the boy; ANBU wanted him, the medical squadron wanted him, and even the Mizukage wanted to take young Masaru into apprenticeship. The boy ultimately accepted the Kage’s invitation, receiving guidance from the Water-Shadow himself.
Under such training, it was hardly a surprise when Masaru passed the Jounin exams and the ripe old age of twelve. There was almost nothing that the boy couldn’t do, even at that age; the Mizukage himself even admitted that, if he didn’t have many years left in him, he’d pass the fancy hat and outfit on right then. Unfortunately, his achievements may have been a double-edged sword. With such expectations placed on him at even an early age, Masaru really had no time to enjoy his childhood, which made several serious, albeit hardly noticeable, problems for him, mostly with his mind. Of course, nothing bad was going to happen, right?
Wrong.
At the age of sixteen, Masaru’s expectations and everything finally resulted in his brief little mental breakdown. He had gone temporarily insane one night, while struggling to get to sleep, and insane people tend to like to kill. Indiscriminately, the young Jounin began slaughtering his compatriots in the streets, all the while yelling something about how he was finally able to enjoy himself. By the time the Mizukage himself came in to stop the assault, he only found a pile of bodies and no murderer in sight. Masaru had come to his senses in time to run off, fleeing Water Country altogether.
For five years, the boy has simply been wandering the world, acting as a vigilante ninja when needed, and occasionally fighting off ANBU members who try to bring him in. By now, most people have simply decided to let him be, but a rare few still think they’ll earn a name for themselves by brining in the so-called ‘Butcher of Kirigakure’, but, on the rare occasion that he can be found, Masaru has yet to even be touched by the Hunter-Nin.
Gear/weapons: Kunai, shuriken, explosive tags/pouches, and ninja wire.
Jutsus and Techniques:
Suiro no Jutsu (Water Prison Technique)
Type: C-rank, Supplementary, Short range (0-5m)
A move used to trap the victim inside a virtually inescapable prison of water. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep one arm inside the bubble at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. This Jutsu cannot be performed without a sufficiently large body of water to supply the water for it. Kisame has been seen using water clones' arms instead of his own arm for this technique; this raises the issue of what exactly must be held inside the bubble to maintain it. Hyuga Neji has used his ability to release chakra from all his tenketsu to disrupt the chakra inside the Suiro and so break free.
Level: 20
Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu (Water Replication)
Type: C-rank, Supplementary
Creates one or more identical copies of the user out of water. More similar to Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique) than to a normal Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique), these clones are capable of attacking, except for the fact that each clone's strength is only one-tenth of the user. In addition, the clones can only be controlled within a certain radius of the user.
Level: 20
Kirigakure no Jutsu (Hiding Mist Technique)
Type: D-rank, Supplementary
This jutsu envelops the surrounding area in a dense mist, causing anyone within it to lose the advantage of sight.
Level: 15
Suiton no Jutsu (Water Release Technique)
Type: S-Rank, Supplementary
Suiton no Jutsu, the act of using the water element, allows the ninja to manipulate and conjure water and ice at will. The water will grow and bend at the ninja's will, taking whatever form he needs.
Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu (Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique)
Type: D-rank, Supplementary, Short range (0-5m)
Narakumi no Jutsu is a Genjutsu technique that causes its target to see a horrifying vision. The ninja will use the rat hand seal to cause a circle of leaves to spin and envelop the target and then fall away. Once cast the world will appear normal to the target until they see the illusion.
Level: 15
RP Sample: Despite its name, Masaru found Fire Country to actually be quite cool, at least in the morning. The man had only recently awakened, thanks to the sun, and his position—sitting, his back against a tree—had left the man a bit sore. Not even bothering to stifle the yawn that came to him, Masaru stood up, stretching and groaning as he shifted his bones for the first time in eight hours. Movement felt so good, especially after sitting for such a long time. Maybe next time, the Missing-Nin could manage to find a barn to sneak in; that had easily been the best sleep he’d gotten in a long while.
Maybe he’d make it to Konoha today, if he was lucky. The Leaf Village wasn’t too far off, and Masaru had always wanted to see it, but figured he’d never make it inside the walls. Maybe today, though. It had been almost a month since the last attempt on his life, maybe the people had forgotten him…No, no they hadn’t. There were two…no, three men a good hundred feet behind him, cautiously talking. Probably more Hunter-Nin, though Masaru couldn’t tell from what village the men hailed from. Oh well, fighting was fun. With luck, the men could be stopped by simply knocking them out—murder was never a good thing—but the chances of that were slim. With a sigh, the Missing-Nin slipped a pair of kunai into his hands and began to walk down the path, silently hoping the men behind him would allow him a few minutes to warm up. It was only polite.
